Two packages in the mail today...Roll Over Rover & Excite Bike. Definitely not the most exciting of things that I've got on the way, but kinda nice nonetheless. Actually the Excite Bike package was cooler than I was thinking. Dan really blew my mind. About 6 weeks ago, I placed the order..just for the North Sea "Electioneering" and Sky Limousine "Midnight Heat" tapes. It seemed like it was taking a real long time, but I decided for once to not ask the person about it. So today the package shows up with 2 extra tapes in it. Not really a big deal, lots of small-run tape/CDR labels add little bonuses in. It's actually what these bonuses happened to be that was really cool. First up was the Dream Safari "Buried Mics" tape. I'd never heard the project, but obviously the very name "Dream Safari" appealed to me heavily. When I was first placing my order for the 2 tapes, I also had this one in my cart at one point, but decided to not get it. So I was totally excited to get it in the package, especially since now I see that a new Dream Safari tape is due out on Digitalis Ltd this week. The second bonus is the one that really gets me...I placed an order with Tomentosa recently and it included something like...2 CDRs, 1 DVDR, and 5 tapes...it was a confusing order and in the midst of the confusion, one of the tapes was forgotten in the package...I didn't bother Josh about it because I knew it wasn't intentional, and it didn't seem worth it. The forgotten tape? Samuel Goldberg vs. Body Morph on Soundesign. Well as it happens, Dan from Excite Bike is in Body Morph, so he threw one of those in the package. Totally awesome and unexpected.
Last weekend I went to Ikea and got another 2x4 Expedit since I ran out of room on the one I bought the year before. I finally got around to putting it together this past weekend, as well as putting together a newer, smaller bed so that I have more room in my bedroom. It worked out well and I'm totally excited about this.
